Let's Act #ForNature!

We can change the world, in a SNAP!

World Environment Day, a Global Day to unite and share our voice #ForNature!  Whether it's the air we breathe, the food we eat, or the water we drink, nature is there for us - giving us life, sustenance, and beauty.  But over the years our industrial and consumer choices have depleted her resources and the biodiversity of our ecosystem.  One million plant and animal species risk extinction, largely due to human activities; and today we are still wasting over 30% of the food we grow for consumption.  The opportunity to make change is within each of our hands, one simple act at a time.

Nature reveals the treasures around us, that nourish and sustain us. We have a collective responsibility to protect, preserve and restore nature’s resources to help end biodiversity loss, reduce climate impact and ensure a more sustainable food system. As individuals we must rethink what we buy and use and become conscious consumers. Only by doing our part, can we allow nature to heal and ensure a better and healthier future for everyone.

We believe radical social change happens when we all unite, become knowledgeable and take simple actions in our daily lives. We hope to be a place of inspiration, where you can Learn, Share, and Act, starting in the kitchen - cooking with love, for people and the planet.

Our president Lara Gilmore joined #GenerationRestoration showing us
how bees are essential to our ecosystem.

Bees and other pollinators are a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plant species depend, entirely, or at least in part, on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world’s food crops and 35% of global agricultural land.

Not only do pollinators contribute directly to food security, but they are key to conserving biodiversity.

On #WorldEnvironmentDay our president Lara Gilmore wants to raise awareness on the importance of their contribution to sustainable development showing us how bees contribute to safeguarding biodiversity in the beautiful garden of casa Maria Luigia.

Why bees are important for biodiversity

Food for Soul's snap

It's time we wake up and call for action. It's time #ForNature!

From the vegetable garden of Casa Maria Luigia our founder Massimo Bottura will show us how in a snap we can Take Action for Nature by creating recipes that reduce food waste and promote plant rich foods like legumes and pulses, both good for the soil and biodiversity.

  2. Explore how to buy locally produced products and foods.

  3. Reduce Food Waste, Recycle and Repurpose by preserving foods, freezing ahead and composting.

  4. Help create environments for our ecosystem to thrive by leaving some wild green spaces in your garden where pollinators and ground dwelling insects can thrive.

  5. Reduce use of plastics by purchasing foods in bulk to minimize packaging, use reusable items such as food boxes, straws, silverware and shopping bags.
